Availability

Where can I buy Precious Memory products?

All corporate, authorized retail locations, and the online store have closed. Please e-mail us at the address on the top page.

Do you have a catalog I can see?

Sorry, we do not have any catalogs available anymore. But we do have a photo gallery.

Do you have an inventory list I can see?

Yes, now we do. Click here to see it. Although we have over 300 items in stock, we may only have one or two of them. Please understand that an item may be sold out before we can update the list. We also have some specialty items and spare parts not on this list.

Do you sell wholesale to retailers?

No, we do not.

I damaged a very sentimental piece. Can you help me?

We may be able to locate a replacement for you from a dealer or private seller. Please e-mail us at the address on the top page.

Can you tell me how to contact the dealers?

These dealers are not authorized retailers but come into possession of the products by chance. They are antique shops and gift shops that do not carry Precious Memory products. Usually, one of their customers ask them to sell their private collections for them. In turn, the dealers search for the original manufacturer (Precious Memory) and contact us for assistance because they have no method to sell outside of their stores.

What happened to the “brokers warehouse”?

While closing our operations in the United States, the inventory was stored at a broker’s warehouse for expedited shipping to other stores still operating in Hong Kong, Japan, and Hawaii. Later, many customers have contacted us to purchase discontinued items. Since then, the inventory has become smaller and now resides in local storage.

How long does it take to search for a product?

The search time depends on how the product is stored. Most of the time, we can find the items in 72 hours. It may take weeks to locate one loose item if it is the last one in stock. For items available from private sellers, it depends on who is willing to sell what when.

How much does Precious Memory make with these private seller (non-inventory) transactions?

Absolutely nothing. All shipping & handling fees are quoted at cost from the USPS. All processing fees are quoted at cost from PayPal. All the proceeds go to the dealer/seller.

Pricing

Why don’t you list the product prices?

Because the inventory list is not an “offer to sell”. It is just a list of items available. Please e-mail us and we’ll let you know your cost for purchase.

So how much are the products really?

If you e-mail us, we’ll return an e-mail with prices approximately equal to the original retail price of the figurines.

Why not the original retail price?

Because the original price was calculated against the Japanese Yen. Current US prices are rounded off at the 50 cents.

Do you have discount pricing?

Sorry, no.  Please note, our profit margin is zero at full price.

Do I have to pay in full before shipment?

Yes, please. We have no way to collect payment after shipment.

What payment methods do you accept?

Currently, we only accept payments via PayPal. We no longer accept credit cards or bank transfers.

What are the fees for PayPal and credit cards?

  1. PayPal using USD domestic funds: 2.9% + $0.30

  2. PayPal using USD international funds: 3.9% + $0.30

Can’t you waive the PayPal fees or credit card processing fees?

Sorry, no. This is the fee PayPal charges and was never included in the original retail price.

Why is Precious Memory offering this service then?

Because we believe that we have the social responsibility to provide support to our customers as long as we are able to.

I hate PayPal. Can’t you accept [other online service name]?

Let us know what payment method you prefer and we’ll look into it. If enough customers want to use that service, we might accept payment through it. Remember, the service must be available in both your country and the United States.

Shipping

What are your shipping methods?

All products ship from the United States via USPS International Express unless otherwise noted. Shipping quotes DO NOT include insurance unless otherwise noted. We can arrange for other shipping methods such as FedEx, UPS, USPS International Priority, GXG and Parcel Post.

How much is International shipping?

Shipping costs depend on where we ship to and how. But we can tell you that a typical small figurine’s shipping weight is around 1 lb. (~500g) and shipment size is about 2.5 x 2.5 x 5 in. Because that will not clear the minimum shipping size, we have to put it into a larger box. So in the end, you should expect to pay almost as much for the shipping as the figurine.

Do you have discounts for International orders because of high shipping costs?

Sorry, no. We don’t profit from shipping, the post office does.

How long does it take to ship to [location]?

3-5 days within the 48 contiguous United States. 6-10 days to Eastern Asia (Japan, Hong Kong). Longer elsewhere.

The shipping costs are too high or it takes too long to ship. Can I pick-up my order at your location?

No. Absolutely not. We are not operating a retail store. Our building is not open for public access. It is highly likely you will be detained by security guards, transferred to the local police, and charged for trespassing.

General

Are Precious Memory and Precious Moments related?

We used to be but not any more. We are separate companies with different kinds of porcelain figurines.

Can I buy Precious Memory products online or by e-mail?

The online store is closed, but we may be able to find products that we have stored. Inventory is VERY limited. Please e-mail us at the address on the top page.

I live in Hong Kong and have a private collection I want to sell. Can you help me?

Unfortunately, when we sell the products for our private sellers, we only accept sales offers from the local area where transportation cost is low and the products can be confirmed.

How long will the Customer Service e-mail be available for?

The “Customer Service” desk is now the “International Desk” staffed by English and Japanese speaking members. Their service will be available as long as possible, but we do not have a cut-off date as of now.

Does the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami of March 11, 2011 have something to do with your closing?

No. We were very fortunate not to lose anybody in that tragedy.

Are Precious Memory products from Japan contaminated with radiation from Fukushima?

All products from Japan have been shipped out to Hong Kong and the US prior to December 31, 2010 - before the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant explosion on March 12, 2011.

Will Mr. Fujioka be at [location]?

Sorry, we can’t answer that question.
